May 2022 News

Wow!! What a great competition season! It was wonderful to see all the dancers get back on the stage after 3 years of being away from the lights, make-up, hair and costumes. A HUGE congratulations to all the dancers who represented Impact Dance Company at all 3 competitions we attended.

From the beginning to the end you made your teachers so proud. You were all fantastic on and off the stage. There is a list of all the award recipients in the newsletter! We appreciate all the time each family put into their dancer to have them ready for each dance. We know the time it takes to not only be at the competition but the time spent getting ready and the time spent before and after the dance. We want to say thank you to all that made our competition season successful.

We want to congratulate our Grade 4 Jazz Group ' GET DAT' for winning 1st place in the GOLDEN TICKET at this year's Onstage Festival. Also, to our Senior Modern Class ' I DON'T THINK I LOVE YOU ANYMORE' for placing 6th overall in the GOLDEN TICKET. Great job Dancers!!

Ticket sales will open on Thursday, May 5th. There will be a link sent out via email as well as Facebook and Instagram. You can also find a QR code on all our posters for the recital at the studio. Please share the link with family and friends so they are able to order tickets. We host 3 recitals. When placing your order please make sure you are purchasing tickets for the correct date. NO REFUNDS will be issued once the order has been placed.

We have not had an in-person recital in 3 years. In the past, our recitals have all SOLD OUT. We encourage you to place your ticket order as soon as possible to ensure you get the tickets you want. Tickets will also be sold at the door the day of the shows. If you have a small child attending you will need to purchase them a ticket unless they are sitting on your lap for the duration of the show. Tiny Tot dancers can attend the recital but please note - you must purchase a ticket for them to watch. Dancers are welcome to watch the rehearsal.

A sign-up sheet is posted at the studio for those dancers who participated in solos &/or duets to come and dance in a performance setting for friends and families to come and see all your hard work. We encourage dancers to sign-up. Once the list has been finalized a schedule will be released. In previous years we start at 2:00 and depending on how many dancers sign-up we will adjust the times. If you want to attend, there will be a silver collection at the door. 100% of the proceeds from this show will be donated to a local cause.

May 9, 10, 11, and 12th is Bring A Friend Week! Your dancer is welcome to bring a friend and have some fun in class! Classes will be at their regular timeslots. If you have any questions please let us know.

IDC recital rehearsal is taking place on Thursday, May 26th. The schedule will be sent in an email soon. We will be going through the finale 1st (every dancer will be in the finale) then we will run the rehearsal from start to finish with the recital line-up. Dancers are encouraged to watch the rehearsal as they are not permitted into the recitals (unless they have a ticket). This is the only opportunity for dancers to watch others.

Dressing rooms will be available. Names of the groups will be posted by the door of each dressing room. You are welcome to leave your costumes and props in the dressing rooms. IDC will not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property. Make sure to not leave valuables in the dressing rooms.

NEW THIS YEAR - We are permitting one parent per family into the rehearsal, with no exceptions. You will need to CHECK-IN upon arriving at the Uniplex if you plan on staying to help dress/change your child or to watch the rehearsal with your child. Parents are to stay with their young children while at the Uniplex. Once your dancer is done with all their groups you are welcome to leave.
(Note: additional recital information can be found on the recital page).
